Today’s Good News And Bad News
From Our Local Political Junkie We’ll Call “Cincy Dave”

BAD NEWS FOR HILLARY
image009The news that Obamacare premiums are going up an average of 25 percent couldn’t come at a worse time for Hillary. One would think that the evil dictator Obama would have suppressed that information until after the election, but he must be in his weak and incompetent phase. We have always wondered about him – How can he be weak and incompetent and also be a dictator? Meanwhile, Hillary is left hanging out there, supporting a system that opponents claim is in its death spiral. Could this be the October Surprise that Trump has been hoping for? Maybe the part of the Clinton campaign that controls all of the mainstream media can manage to keep the news from becoming a big story. Hillary has to hope that most Obamacare subscribers won’t find out until the bills for January arrive in late December. We will see if it affects polling or voting in the next 13 days.

image010TRUMP TAKES A SWIPE AT OBAMACARE
Handed an unexpected issue like the news that Obamacare premiums were going to go up, Trump fumbled. He told a crowd that his employees were having a terrible time with Obamacare, and later contradicted himself, saying that his employees didn’t use Obamacare because he provided health insurance. We wonder if either of these statements are true.

TRUMP CUTS OFF GOP
In an unusual move, Trump has halted big money fundraisers which cuts off a source of cash to the GOP. We don’t know if this is a way of throwing in the towel or an effort to punish the GOP for image012not supporting him enough. Either way, it can’t be a good thing. Spin doctors are trying to make the best of it.

TRUMP NEWS
Five Republican politicians have threatened to sue TV stations for running ads tying them to Trump. They have done their best to dissociate themselves from Trump but their nasty Democratic opponents have created commercials linking them to the Republican nominee. Many Republican Pols are in a real dilemma, they need Trump supporters to vote for them but they also don’t want to suffer the backlash from anti-Trump Republicans and independents. That’s why we have seen so many flip-flops on endorsing and unendorsing The Donald.

COLIN POWELL VOTING FOR HILLARY
image011Former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell said Tuesday he’ll vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, a high-profile snub of his party’s standard-bearer, Donald Trump. Powell joins a long list of Bush Administration officials who refuse to support their party’s nominee.

POLITICS MAKES STRANGE BEDFELLOWS
Never has that saying been more true if an article in the Washington Post is to be believed. It claims that the Clinton campaign and Breitbart, who is run by Trump’s current campaign manager, conspired to ruin Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign and build up Donald Trump. Hillary’s campaign was supposed to be afraid of a Rubio nomination and wanted to help the more extreme candidate, Trump, who presumably would be easier to defeat. As with most conspiracy stories, this should be taken with a great deal of skepticism. image004

TODAY’S STATE POLLS
The most noteworth thing about today’s batch is the Arizona poll that has Hillary within 1 point. In recent weeks there have been other polls that showed her winning there. For Hillary to even be this close in such a conservative state is not good news for Trump.image006
