image003GOOD NEWS FOR TRUMP: Donald Trump’s Circus Opens Today in Cleveland and just about anything could happen. Thousands of riot police stand at the ready and many more thousands of protesters are expected.   The RNC has released a complete list of speakers, most of whom nobody has ever heard of.   [Here it is]

If you want to watch, you had better have cable or satellite service because the major networks are not going to be carrying the complete proceedings, except that there will of course be tons of News Coverage, in case something big happens, inside or outside. If you don’t get enough Hillary and Obama bashing this week, then you never will. We expect that they will be held responsible for every negative thing that ever happened, at least going back to the Lindbergh kidnapping.  Ronald Reagan, who will be mentioned frequently and compared with Trump, will be credited with any positive occurrences in the last 100 years, including winning WWII, the killing of Bin Laden and the present stock market surge.

A few notes  –  Trump family members will be speaking every night, even DJT’s (current) wife, who has a heavy accent.    The accent may be seem to be a little disconcerting for a party of white nationalists.

Because there are many speakers who could be considered a little out of control, such as the Duck Dynasty guy, they could say some unexpected things.    Hopefully, everyone’s speeches will be pre-approved and they will have strict orders to stay on script.   The party wouldn’t want anyone to say anything that could be considered overtly racist, homophobic or misogynistic, because the Tea Party folks would be horrified.    The Log Cabin Republicans do not have a speaker on the agenda.  It is also disappointing for many that John Miller or John Barron didn’t get a speaking spot, but we think we know why.    That could be confusing.

No word yet if anyone will be allowed to use a teleprompter, or if the criticism of teleprompters will be temporarily suspended until the Democrat Convention next week.

BAD NEWS FOR HILLARY AND TRUMP: A new poll shows Johnson gaining traction. The latest Rasmussen Reports Weekly White House Watch survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 44% support to Clinton’s 37%. Thirteen percent (13%) favor some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided. A CNN poll (which favors Hillary) has Libertarian Gary Johnson with 13% compared to Hillary’s 42% and Trump’s 37%. Will there possibly be a third President Johnson?  Of course not, but if he keeps gaining, he could be included in this year’s debates.  That could reduce head-to-head conflict in the debates and lessen the chances for a knock-out. Even worse for the major candidates, his percentage of the vote could alter the outcome of some swing states.   Historically, Libertarian votes have come mostly from disaffected Republican voters but this year could be different because everyone seems disaffected.
