We continue with Cincy Dave’s latest thoughts on the 2020 Elections..
Yesterday, Georgia re-certified its 2020 presidential election for Biden. Added to the first certification and the first vote count, and the first and second recounts, that makes this the 5th time Biden has won the state of Georgia. And that doesn’t even count the win yesterday in federal court, where the Trump campaign’s lawsuit to invalidate the previous 4 or 5 wins was dismissed on several grounds. So, Biden undoubtedly holds the record for the most times anyone has ever won Georgia.
Yesterday was Safe Harbor Day, not to be confused with Pearl Harbor day. Safe Harbor Day is when all states are supposed to get finished certifying the results in order for the Electoral College to cast their votes. The vote has already been certified in all 15 of the so-called battleground states, and all but a handful of other states, so you might think the election is over. Amazingly though, you can still bet on Trump to win re-election. Yes, you can bet 14 bucks to win 100 if Trump wins. It’s too good a deal for Trump fans to pass up, and many are betting heavily. Even more amazing is that you can also bet the other side of this, 85 bucks to win 100 if Biden wins.
But, as Yogi said, “it ain’t over till it’s over”. 5 of the 6 Republicans on the Supreme Court could unilaterally declare Trump the winner. A disaster (natural or unnatural) could take out Biden and Harris but that might just leave Nancy Pelosi as president. Someone also once said that it isn’t over till the fat lady sings. We don’t know if the fat lady is Sarah Huckleberry Sanders or Ronna Romney McDaniel but it really doesn’t look good for the Trump bettors right now. Depending on which way it goes, some bettors’ kids probably won’t be getting anything for Christmas.
