TRUMP’S SEVEN-HUNDRED-AND-FOURTEENTH-DAY OUT-OF-OFFICE
AND WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT LEVY
Happy New Year From The Apocalypse!

Happy Chinese new year 2023 year of the rabbit zodiac sign      with flower, lantern, Asian elements gold paper cut style on color Background. (Translation : Happy New Year)

2023 will be the Chinese year of the rabbit. This oriental rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.

The hopeless Forest Hills school board can little hope the year goes as such. For them, this is the year of the REALLY BIG TAX LEVY. RBTL – which also can stand for Rabbit Levy.

This is a levy of desperation, not hope. Desperate to maintain the unquestioning funding bestowed upon them like the entitled child of wealthy parents.

Why do they need this Rabbit Levy? Not because of the actions of the last school board, as some say. That’s like blaming the car in front of you for the five-mile-long traffic jam you are behind.

It is because the school board a few years ago dishonestly rammed a seriously flawed building levy down over-taxed payers’ throats. The overspending and mismanagement that ensued inevitably caused the current financial situation. And in a typical political fashion, those decision-makers have not been held accountable for it.

The Cincinnati Daily Fishwrap reported recently on one of the issues from that debacle that has yet to be resolved. Of course, they chose December 25 to publish the article hoping to avoid anyone reading it. It at least put information in public light where someone might actually see some of the calamities that the former board of education created.

This Is Part Of The Apocalypse We’ve Been Telling You About.

As facts in this lawsuit are presented in court, there could be many things revealed while under public scrutiny about why the district has arrived at this point. One can hope so in this year of hope.

Did voters get $23 million worth of value from the original budget on the Anderson High School maintenance and repairs (advertised as “renovations”)? Consider that the cost was much higher than that.  There were overruns for which the amounts have been hidden. Additional millions in lawsuit settlements. For a facility that at its core remains obsolete.

Over-Taxed Payers also approved along with the building levy a small side levy billed as the “Permanent Improvement Fund.” These were to be funds put aside to pay for maintenance items such as roofs and parking lots as they aged and needed replacement.

Obviously, the PI fund has been spent on something else. What is being given as a reason the RBTL is needed? To replace some roofs and pavement. Of course.

Where did the PI money go? That’s a question the levy committee hopes not to hear or have to answer.

The school district and their inevitable levy supporters also hope lawsuit and election fact-finding will continue to overlook the creative bookkeeping that likely went on in the back offices of the school district.

Hard to blame the voters who were intentionally deceived. But they can be blamed for passing the RBTL in the year of the rabbit. Taxpayers can hope voters won’t do that.

Can Over-Taxed payers hope the school board, self-touted “good stewards of taxpayer money,” will spend funds properly? History and culture say that idea lies beyond hope as things stand.

To get this district back on track, voters and over-taxed payers might want to reject the levy. Let the state come in. The state is on the district’s doorstep already. Maybe they can clean up the mess. Force a new discipline on the district to insure longevity, peace, and prosperity.

The state certainly can’t do any worse. Maybe they can even root out the woke ideology that is still embedded in Forest Hills schools. Rabbits are expert diggers.

Some apocalyptically hopeful thoughts, yes. But perhaps rooted in the common sense underlying the Anderson Apocalypse.
