BAD NEWS FOR TRUMP
image009A billionaire Republican has pledged $2 million to help register Latinos to vote against Trump in Florida, the largest of all the swing states. “As a lifelong Republican, I cannot support a Party I no longer recognize,” Mike Fernandez wrote in an email, saying he could not understand how the GOP “could not distance itself from a man who has taken such liberties with the facts that calling him a liar would not suffice.” Fernandez backed Gov. Jeb Bush’s presidential bid this cycle with his own millions and has supported comprehensive immigration reform plans that Trump has trashed, said that he has never met Hillary Clinton. “She is far from perfect but benign in comparison to Trump,” said Fernandez. “I specially call on all Latinos to reject a man who encourages violence against you [as] he has done in Iowa and other places.” Inasmuch as Trump’s campaign began with him trashing Latinos, it would be an interesting irony if it was ended by Latinos trashing him in Florida.

ADVICE TO HILLARY ON DEBATES
image006Prominent Democrats agree that the best way to debate Donald Trump is to let him be himself and give him the rope to hang himself. Don’t waste time attacking him or his ideas because He’s going to say some cockamamie stuff. Trump has calmed down since his staff finally got him to start using a teleprompter, which he said he never would do, and had even mocked those who did, but that crutch won’t be available to him in the debates. For her part, Hillary has said that she has gotten more advice on the debates than on any other subject.

STEPHEN COLBERT DEMOLISHES TRUMP LIE
CBS Nighttime talk show host Stephen Colbert went further than anyone has gone before in calling Trump a liar, especially regarding his lies about Obama’s Birthplace. You won’t believe what the image011censors allowed him to get away with saying.(More here)

TRUMP SUPPORTERS WILL ACCEPT ANYTHING HE DOES
When Trump said that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue in broad daylight and not lose any votes, it wasn’t much of a stretch. The Jimmy Kimmel show demonstrated this when they sent someone out to find Trump supporters and ask them questions about certain items in Trump’s “newly released” tax returns. Some examples: “Do you think that gold plating a toilet is a business expense?” “Was it legitimate to write off all his previous marriages as entertainment?” “ Were you surprised that Trump spent $38,000 for a Siberian tiger for Vladimir Putin’s birthday present?” “Are you surprised that Trump’s net worth is only $42,000, not $10 billion?” Whatever it was, no matter how ridiculous, image010Trump supporters were all OK with it.

TRUMP STRIKES BACK AGAINST WP
The Donald campaign has come out with a statement that about Tuesday’s story in the Washington Post about him using over a quarter of a million in funds from his so-called charity to pay for things for himself or for his business. He stated that the story was “peppered with inaccuracies” but they failed to name a single inaccuracy. It would seem hard to argue that the story is inaccurate when it was documented by letters and cancelled checks that were signed by Trump. Here’s more from the reporter who broke the story:

TRUMP YELLIN’ ABOUT YELLEN
image007Yesterday, the Fed announced that interest rates will not be going up, consequently, the stock markets went up. So Trump attacked Fed Chairman Janet Yellen for trying to help Hillary. Yellen responded by saying that she never attended a meeting where politics was discussed. It is widely known that the Fed has been keeping interest rates low for many years to assist the recovery from the great recession.

TODAY’S MEANINGLESS POLLS
Three Fox News Polls show Trump ahead in Ohio, NC and Nevada. He may or may not be ahead there but Fox has relentlessly promoted Trump, so much so that he probably wouldn’t be the Republican candidate without them. It should also be remembered that Fox polls showed a landslide for their preferred candidate, Mitt Romney, in 2012. So we usually can consider Fox Polls as, well, meaningless.image012
