First We Round Up All The RINOS

image004At this morning’s meeting of the Conservative Agenda, Political Insiders were asking Beloved Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane if the Republican Party was having an identity crisis these days.  After all, The Hill says Donald Trump and the other outsiders have been trouncing establishment GOP candidates in the 2016 presidential primary, Conservative rebels on Capitol Hill finally forced Failed Speaker John Boehner to retire, and Rebels claimed the scalp of Boehner’s top deputy, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

“Maybe this would be a good time for a little “rebranding” at the good old Grand Old Party Ranch,” Kane explained, like when a company or organization changes its image.

“Right now the image of the Republican Party is totally dysfunctional,” Kane added. “I hardly think Voters will trust this bunch to run the country after what they’ve seen recently.”

The problem is, Congress represents the “American psyche,” and these days Congress is dysfunctional because America’s dysfunctional.

“Donald Trump keeps gaining in the polls with more negative behavior, and the Angry American people are drawn to that because they want to see some type of leadership, because they haven’t seen any positive leadership from Obama and the Disingenuous DemocRATS for the past seven years.

The intraparty warfare playing out on the presidential campaign trail and on the Hill reflects that deep-seated frustration. Republicans hold both chambers of Congress, yet haven’t been unable to advance a Conservative agenda with a DemocRAT still in the White House.

The House Freedom Caucus (a bloc of roughly 40 conservative rebels) wants to fight for sweeping change like the repeal of ObamaCare, the end of Planned Parenthood funding, and the abolishment of the Export-Import Bank.

Boehner’s allies always choose pragmatism over principle. They would never shut down the government, passing only bills that could clear the 60-vote threshold in the Senate and make it to image005Obama’s desk. Many of the Freedom Caucus’ ideas couldn’t overcome a DemocRAT-led filibuster in the upper chamber and pursuing a politically unrealistic agenda can’t be helping the GOP’s chances to take back the White House in 2016.

Some Republicans claim their members have a common vision, but their problem is agreeing on how to get there.

But the GOP was given an historic opportunity with a historic majority in the House and Senate last year, and since then Republican Voters have seen Boehner and McConnell cave in to Obama every time.

“Somehow that new brand the Republican Party is working on before they select a new Speaker of the House should include Leadership,” Kane concluded, “if it’s not already too late.”image003image008
