NEARLY THIRTY-ONE YEARS AGO TODAY…
Edition #69 (published on September 24, 1991) of the original printed edition of The Whistleblower (not the Newswire) was delivered to Persons of Consequence all over town. It was our “Using Large Type And Oversized Graphics To Fill Up Space” Issue, and our Really Big Story was all about the 1991 Whistleblower “Best And Worst” Awards. Our Top Ten List listed was the top ten reasons to publish a “Best and Worst” edition.
PAGE TWO included the “Best And Worst” Pimps, Prostitutes, and Politicians.
PAGE THREE featured the “Best and Worst “Real Reporters,” and the “Best and Worst” Sex, Lies, and Videotape for the folks on TV.
PAGE FOUR featured the “Best and Worst” Spoiled Sports along with the “Best and Worst” Pleasures and Perversions.
PAGE FIVE featured the “Best and Worst” Revolting Developments, along with an announcement about our candidate endorsement interviews, ads for CG&E and Angelo’s Campbell County Chevrolet, and this week’s United Appall Person.
And PAGE SIX included the “Best and Worst” Awards in the Who Gives A Big Rat’s Ass category, along with our “What Kind of Man reads The Whistleblower,” an ad for Tower Place, and the 38% School Tax Increase.
Many people say this was one of our best all time e-ditions.
