Conducted Under Roberts Rules of Disorder

image010image006Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court officially became the rubber stamp for all that lawlessness and stupidity we have come to know and hate during the Obama Administration with their 6-3 to decision to provide healthcare cost subsidies to people enrolled in the Federal Healthcare Exchanges.

image010Many people thought Chief Justice Roberts had not yet recovered from his lobotomy, because his competence seems to have been reduced so dramatically lately. No wonder George Bush said nominating Roberts to the Supreme Court was a bigger blunder than invading Iraq, because any first-year law student is supposed to know that the role of the Supreme Court is to rule on the legality of a law, not to interpret what it might say.

image010Justice Scalia went nuclear in his dissent, saying:

image007  (1) “Words no longer have meaning if an Exchange that is not established by a State is ‘established by the State.’”

          (2) “Under all the usual rules of interpretation, in short, the Government should lose this case. But normal rules of interpretation seem always to yield to the overriding principle of the present Court: The Affordable Care Act must be saved.”

          (3) “Today’s interpretation is not merely unnatural; it is unheard of.”

          (4) “And the cases will publish forever the discouraging truth that the Supreme Court of the United States favors some laws over others, and is prepared to do whatever it takes to uphold and assist its favorites.”

          (5) “We should start calling this law SCOTUScare.”

image010image004Former Texas Governor Rick Perry’s response to Thursday’s SCOTUScare Ruling was probably the smartest of all the GOP Candidates:

The Obama Administration has ignored the text of the Affordable Care Act time and again, and today’s ruling allows them to continue to disregard the letter of the law. While I disagree with the ruling, it was never up to the Supreme Court to save us from Obamacare. We need leadership in the White House that recognizes the folly of having to pass a bill to know what’s in it. We need leadership that understands a heavy-handed, one-size-fits-all policy does nothing to help health outcomes for Americans.

image010image009Texas Republican Congressman Brian Babin proposed forcing the Supreme Court justices and their staff to enroll in SCOTUScare. “As the Supreme Court continues to ignore the letter of the law, it’s important that these six individuals understand the full impact of their decisions on the American people,” Babin said. “That’s why I introduced the SCOTUScare Act to require the Supreme Court and all of its employees to sign up for ObamaCare.”

They deserve an Olympic medal for legal gymnastics, added Congressman Joe Pitts, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee.

image010Ohio TEA Party Guy Tom Zawistowski derided the Supreme Court 6-3, saying “I think we should all go out and break any law we want today, because we are no longer a nation of laws. You can say that you simply “interpret” the meaning of the words in any law, any way that serves your needs.

image010Thursday was another Day That Will Live in Infamy when words no longer have integrity thanks to our Supreme Court, who hold themselves as the arbiter of “newspeak” and can, from here on out, decide the new definitions of words and phrases for the formerly free people of America.

image010Now to see how John Roberts came to believe 2+2 is not 4, let’s watch this brainwashing session from George Orwell’s “1984.”

If only Republicans in Congress had passed the ObamaCare law right in the first place.
