Will There Be A Pot Time In The Old Town Tonight?
At yesterday’s meeting of the Conservative Agenda, Political Insiders were asking Beloved Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane when The Blower would begin stirring the pot on the Legalizing Marijuana Controversy.
In Columbus, Buckeye Bureau Chief Gerry Manders reports Hamilton County Prosecutor “JayWalking Joe” Deters even showed up Thursday’s press conference for the Pot Growers Association to explain that “marijuana legalization is inevitable, along with decarbing weed, and could bring nearly 35,000 jobs to the state.” “Why in the world, knowing this is coming, would we let the bad guys make all the money?” Deters asked. “Taxing the nearly $7 billion industry could help fund local government.”
The Fishwrap reports the “Old JayWalker” has a part-time job at the same Cincinnati law firm as Chris Stock, the principal author of the amendment to allow marijuana cultivation at 10 farms across the state. Coincidence? We think not! Maybe The Blower should now change the old Jaywalker’s official Whistleblower Nickname to “Tokin’ Joe?”
Other Law-and-Order Republicans have already denounced the Pot Growers’ proposal. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWhine called legalization “a stupid idea,” and Thursday, Ohio Auditor Dave Yost rejected the new report’s credibility on Twitter, saying “The Deters marijuana commission report today has all the credibility of a tobacco industry study on the safety of smoking.”
Somebody said if we check out the membership of Deters’ Ohio Marijuana Task Force, you’ll see a couple of other familiar faces, like The Whistleblower’s Legal Dream Team Chairman, Scott Greenwood, and Cincinnati’s Last Real Police Chief Tom Streicher. [YOU CAN SEE THAT ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP LIST HERE]
Scott Greenwood explains: “This just clarifies what law enforcement and civil rights leaders have known for a long time. The sale and consumption of marijuana is a fact. Illegal cultivation and sale by criminals puts marijuana of questionable purity in the hands of millions of people, including kids. Our prisons are filled with thousands of nonviolent offenders, at a staggering cost to taxpayers, yet that level of enforcement has not made a dent in demand or sales. African-Americans are four times more likely to be in prison for these offenses, with ramifications throughout their lives after release. Legalization — and regulation — will end the enormous waste of law enforcement resources squandered prosecuting people, keep illegal marijuana out of the hands of kids, ensure a safe and regulated product for adults, produce tax revenue, and free up resources so law enforcement can focus on true criminals.”
Let’s also educate people in Ohio to the fact that marijuana has long been classified by the State of Ohio as a schedule I, controlled substance. Quite simply, this means marijuana has absolutely no medicinal value. Quite to the contrary, there is a growing body of evidence verifying that marijuana and its derisive so do, in fact, have medicinal value to a multitude of ailments. Even so, access to cannabis has been widely restricted to owners of medical marijuana cards in Cincinnati, even though many areas are deciding to fully legalize recreational use of marijuana.
Additionally, marijuana has long been identified as a “gateway drug” to more harmful types of substance abuse. Research has now de-bunked that theory as inaccurate. These are very important considerations as we move forward.
Meanwhile in Northern Kentucky, Bluegrass Bureau Chef Ken CamBoo says he’s still waiting to hear from our Good Friend, Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney E Rob Sanders about his office’s official position on legalizing marijuana.
If only Loony Libertarian Jim Berns hadn’t give away all those Free Marijuana Plants on the Street Corners of Cincinnati when he was campaigning for Cincinnati Mayor on a campaign promoting allowing potheads to grow ganja in their back yards.
So how far will our Cultural Decline continue during the Age of Obama?
We’ve already seen Common Sense Conservatives like Ohio Senator Rob Portman supporting Same Sex Sodomy and “TaxKiller Tom” Brinkman opposing the Death Penalty, but now in Anderson, Trustee Andy Pappas says June 22 (the same day your jacked-up Hamilton County Property Taxes are due) will also be “No Panty Day” at his Cleaner Concepts at 7857 Beechmont Avenue.
