Happy Black History Month, Everybody!
Today we begin with the first of 687 profiles in our continuing racial-healing series about local Caucasian residents who just happen to be named “Black”:
Samuel P. Black grew up in Norwood. As an ordinary young white man, he dropped out of junior high at the age of 14 to go to work during the depression. He served without distinction as a PFC in WWII, came back home, married the girl next door, and rented a house in an all-white neighborhood in Bellevue, Kentucky.
Black raised three children, none of whom was ever arrested. He worked at night and on weekends at a pony keg to make ends meet.
After he retired, he became a crossing guard at the local elementary school. Sometimes he just sat on the porch and waved at cars.
“Sam was a good man,” said a neighbor who vaguely remembered him. “He always kept his yard real nice.”
Tomorrow’s Black History Month Racial Healing Profile: TLPMB Mean Jean Schmidt’s eviler twin sister Jennifer Black.
Our Quote for Today comes from British-American financial journalist and author Peter Brimelow, who said, “The modern definition of a ‘racist’ is someone who is winning an argument with a liberal.”
The Campaign After Florida
- In Miami, Noted Florida Political Reporter Manatee Tadwell says on Tuesday, according to Eric Erickson at RedState.com, more and more polls show two things: (1) Mitt Romney would win Florida and (2) Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum combined will get more votes. In fact, moving forward, the Romney campaign will probably engage in a concerted effort to prop up Rick Santorum because as long as he stays in the race, Gingrich will find it very difficult to stop Romney. More interestingly, if Santorum drops out and Newt Gingrich starts winning, suddenly the establishment will have to take seriously the idea of finding someone to replace Mitt Romney.
Buckeye Bureau Chief Gerry Manders says now everybody’s wondering which Romney operative was responsible for booking Rick Santorum at the Summit County Lincoln Day Dinner on February 18. What a coincidence!
And in Washington
- Oh no, not again. On ABC’s This Week Sunday morning, House Speaker John Boehner became emotional and fought tears while talking about former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ resignation for the House of Representatives.
Boehner also cried at the ceremony last week when Giffords submitted her resignation letter to him. He kissed her on the cheek and his tears started streaming. Boehner’s got bawls, but in his upcoming fights with the DemocRATS, will he have balls?
- Also in Washington, with only “278” more days until the 2012 Elections, our DC Newbreaker says the Obama Administration is now facing a fourth year of trillion-plus deficits in 2012. That means “It’s not just the economy stupid, it’s also the debt.”
At the City Hall Circus
- Yesterday, Award-winning Photo Illustrator Artis Conception heard Cincinnati’s Girly Mayor Mark Mallory Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory would be shedding some light on a new solar energy project.
- Blue Blood says at a meeting last week of a group which strongly supports the police department, Cincinnati’s quasi police chief was supposed to speak for an hour and a half with Q and A to follow. He had once before scheduled this talk, but canceled at the last moment because of a “previous engagement.”
(Wouldn’t he have known of the “previous engagement” before he scheduled his talk to us?) At the meeting which he deigned to attend last week (in civilian clothes, no uniform), he spoke to a full house for a mere twenty minutes (looking at his watch every minute or so) and then said he had a very important engagement (he was rather vague and kind of mumbling something about compulsory class attendance) and then left the building.
Blue Blood needs to check this out further, but rumor has it that the car and two motorcycle cops we saw outside the venue (engines running) were waiting for “his chief-ship” to rush him to the airport. Something about his doctoral studies at Phoenix. Blue Blood is sorry to be so vague, but he’s not tight enough in the loop to know more about the real details. Maybe our other Blower snitches can dig around a bit for some more of this story.
P.S. Tom Strike-her was always very gracious to this group.
There are 296,482 stories in the Queen City. This has been one of them.
- Here’s another: A Hamilton County grand jury indicted Cincinnati bad cop Ron Kiner, 42, last Friday on five felony charges after he entered an Evanston residence and assaulted a female for the second time in three months. The twelve-year veteran cop, who has a long list of lawsuits over the years, probably hopes to sway some jurors with his cute light-skinned face and get off scott-free. Is Mark Mallory one of Kiner’s besotted admirers? Maybe real justice will prevail and this bad guy will be convicted and fired from the Cincinnati police department.
Courts of All Sorts
- Hurley the Historian says on this date in 1790, February 1, 1790, the U.S. Supreme Court met for the first time with Chief Justice John Jay presiding, and instantly afterward, DemocRATS began whining that the election had been stolen.
- In a related story, just in time for Black History Month, Bellwether Blogger Bill Sloat says a deal is brewing to count those disputed votes so Degraded DemocRAT Federal Judge Mr$. $tan Che$ley can hand Disgruntled DemocRAT Tracie Hunter that 2010 Juvenile Court election Judge John Williams won fair and square.
Soreheads in the Suburbs
- Our Angry Andersonian wonders if he’s ever seen a more dishonest School Tax Hike Campaign. Supporters of the Forrest Gump Schools Humongous Tax Hike are all over Facebook, admonishing property owners (of $200,000 houses) who won’t pay “another $200-per-year for the children.” How ironic is that? Those same property owners are already paying over $1,800-per-year to support the greedy teachers and administrators. If only WLW Hate Radio/ Whistleblower Faux Facebook Friend Darryl Parks would post those same greedy teachers’ and administrators’ salaries and benefits on his blog.
Speaking of the Greedy Weasels at Clear Channel, if WLW Hate Radio would fire Doc Thompson while he was on his honeymoon, did that mean the guy experienced “employment interruptus” on his wedding night?
Also in Anderson, Celebrity Wannabes want to know when they can start sending in nominations to get their names on the Whistleblower’s List of the 50 Most Fascinating People in Anderson to be announced later this year. Schnozzy Heimlich was on the list the last time it was published, but he no longer lives in the area. Come to think of it, he wasn’t that fascinating anyhow.
- When Ohio’s Second District Congresswoman “Mean Jean” Schmidt was targeted by a Super PAC for being “out of step” with Republicans, Mean Jean’s News Flack Barrett Brunsman called it “ridiculous.” So how come every time The Blower calls Old Wrinkle-Puss a Corrupt Evicted Lying Plagiarizing Meddling Overblown Bought-and-paid-For Tax-and-Spend RINO Bitch-in-a-Ditch, Barrett never says a word.
- In Greed Township, a month into the New Year, and retired trustee Tony Upton is still there. (At least he was when this e-dition was first sent out)
They can’t find a photo for Runner-Up Rocky either. Maybe this is one of those tasks that the Administrator’s Assistant is supposed to do, but for which Jennifer Triantafilou isn’t qualified.
- Republican Mike Wilson is complaining that Pillach-supporter Lonnie Bowling is running against him in the GOP Primary in only 34 more days. [READ MORE HERE] But Conservative Critics say he should put this much energy into communicating and advancing the issues that will touch us, the residents and voters in the 28th House District, instead of rallying around a “plant/ conspiracy” theory behind a meaningless candidate in a primary that he’ll handily win. Mr. Wilson, Disingenuous DemocRATS lie all the time, so polish up your game, thicken your skin, and move forward for heaven’s sake!
- And in the 27th House District Primary, we have the RINO running against “TaxKiller Tom” Brinkman in the GOP Primary agreeing with Connie “The Pillager” when he thanked the Pro-Abortion DemocRAT: “I am also a lawyer and thank you Connie I agree we need uhh we need more lawyers in the legislature as well and uhh because the way we write laws are important and I would agree with Connie that uhh the laws that have been written unfortunately umm are…
The Cronies Are Restless
- Our Clermont Crusader says the political landscape in Clermont County has once again taken a new turn. Prosecutor Don White whose opponent Vince Faris received endorsements by a 2-1 margin from both the Republican Party and local FOP Lodge has now resorted to what many are describing as typical of our Portly Prosecutor’s slimy MO. This past week he mailed a political postcard to voters in the county, which curiously did not contain any endorsements or testimonials from any county officials, probably because not a single one of them have stepped up to support him. Then that same week he mailed a crime tip letter on prosecutor office letterhead to county voters, and it appears taxpayer funds were used for this. White in his 20 years as prosecutor has never mailed such a thing to the citizens. This has been verified by current and past employees of his. The consensus is he is desperately trying to remove his faltering campaign from the toilet after being soundly rejected by his own party and the cops whom he supposedly represents.
The Crusader also guesses the old game hunter, part time commish, Achie “Bunker Hill Junkyard” Wilson and Plumb Flush properties had second thoughts about turning Beautiful Downtown Batavia into a junkyard. He and his cronies pulled their request. So what’s happened to the commish? He’s missed nearly two months of meetings?
- Finally, now that Beloved Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane has been certified as a “Community Producer” at Anderson Community Television, Political Insiders at yesterday’s meeting of the Conservative Agenda were asking our Beloved Publisher who the first person was he planned to interview on his Cable TV interview program. Do you think it’ll be somebody with something bad to say about Disgraced Anderson Trustee Kevin P. O’Brien, just because he still hadn’t apologized for breaking the law, after the Ohio Division of Securities found him guilty of accepting illegal fees as an “Investment Advisor”
Bluegrass Ballots
- Bluegrass Bureau Chief Ken CamBoo says according to the Disassociated Press, two more Republicans have officially filed for the congressional seat being vacated by retiring Kentucky Fourth District Congressman Goof Doofus. But it was only Trooper Babe and Tea-totaling Tom Massie, finally getting around to turning in their paperwork, like it was a big deal.
- According to the Kentucky Lottery, the Remke-Biggs in Taylor Mill sold a $1 million lottery ticket. That’s not the store where Political Gadfly Will “The Thrill” Terwort is employed as a bag boy. That store’s located in Hebron.
- According to the Lexington Herald Leader, Whistleblower Faux FaceBook Friend/ State Senator Demon Nay Thayer, who is expected to file a casino gambling bill in coming days that could bring big bucks to Kentucky’s horse industry, collected at least $208,835 in consulting fees from the industry during 2010 and part of 2011, according to court records. That sounds like some great qualifications to us.
- Vanilla Hills Miscreant Mayor Mike Martin says it would serve no purpose to comment about the sexual harassment charges levied against his City. But Martin does want to assure the residents that, while he often lusts in his heart, he is not the one accused of sexual harassment. Declining to comment, Martin said that Councilman Jim Noll is the one who has been accused of the improper conduct.
Refusing to say more, Martin admitted that he is only guilty of disregarding numerous employee complaints about the harassing behavior. Commenting that he cannot say anything else, Martin confirmed that he ignored the advice of the City Attorney on how to deal with the harassment allegations.
“Look, I’m sorry I can’t really tell you anything”, said Martin, “but the City’s insurance carrier doesn’t seem to be very happy with me right now.”
- Ever since he heard WLW Hate Radio had re-hired formerly fired Eddie Fingers after 16 months, guess who’s been staring at his cell phone all day waiting for it to ring.
- Finally, over at Channel 19, Trish the Dish is asking, “When do they celebrate Black History Month in Kentucky?” And at Channel 5 News, Jack Atherton says, “You won’t believe this, but Sheree Paolello just asked me the same thing.”
