Tomorrow’s Memorial Day, Everybody!

And according to CDN (News for the People, By the People) President Donald Trump has only one publicly scheduled event on Memorial Day. He will participate in the annual wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on the grounds of the Arlington National Cemetary [sic] at 11:00 AM eastern time. The ceremony is an Armed Forces Full Honors tribute to fallen service members. The wreath-laying will be followed by an observance program hosted by the Department of Defense in the Memorial Amphitheater.

image004image004Last year, The Blower was calling for the Congress of the United States to censure Obama for casting doubt on the sacrifices and motivations of the Americans who fought the Second World War — on the eve of Memorial Day, no less, when he told the world on Friday in Hiroshima that the American decision to drop nuclear bombs on Japan in 1945 arose from humanity’s worst instincts, including “nationalist fervor or religious zeal.” The speech — delivered on the eve of Memorial Day weekend — was billed by the White House as anything but an apology, but Obama’s words betrayed his true sentiments.

image037Obama, a native of Honolulu who grew up near Pearl Harbor, said nothing about the fact that Japan started the war; nothing about the fact that the Japanese were responsible for the slaughter of millions of civilians throughout Asia and the Pacific; nothing about the fact that the Japanese refused to surrender after hundreds of thousands had already been killed in conventional bombing.

We remember what President Harry S. Truman said years later when he was reflecting on the decision to bomb Japan: “That bomb caused the Japanese to surrender, and it stopped the war. I don’t care what the crybabies say now, because they didn’t have to make the decision.”

Maybe that’s why this Sunday at the image025of The Compassionate Conservative, Beloved Whistleblower Publisher, the Right-Wing Reverend Charles Foster Kane realized Impeaching Obama was out of the question (only because Disgraced Ex-Speaker John Boehner took it off the table 1,947 impeachable offenses ago), but our RINO Congressional Leaders Ryan and McConnell should at least be able to manage a symbolic censure sometime during the next 236 days until President Trump would be sworn in.

image004Meanwhile in Washington, our DC Newsbreaker says Missouri Republican Senator Roy Blunt called for the resignation of Failed Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald after McDonald compared wait lines at VA hospitals with those at Disney theme parks. Blunt said McDonald’s “preposterous statement is right out of Never Never Land,” two years after Obama picked the EX-P&G CEO to straighten out just another one of Obama’s scandal-plagued departments.

image004Did America have the kind of leadership it truly deserves, especially when you consider all those Dumbed-Down, Self-Absorbed, Media-Influenced, Celebrity-Obsessed, Politically-Correct, Uninformed, Short-Attention-Span, Free-Stuff Grabbing, Low-Information Obama Supporters Who Put The Positively Worst President in History In The White House—Twice, and Failed Trying To Give Obama a Third Term By Voting For Hillary, and get all of their “fake news” from our Obama Supporters in the Press, like the ones at The Fishwrap and on Channel 5, 9, 12, and 19. Maybe that’s why history teachers will cry watching Watters Memorial Day Quiz. (You should really check this one out. There’s some really fine editing in this video)

image004image012Somewhat more patriotic, The Blower was making sure all our Persons of Consequence knew about Sunday night’s National Memorial Day Concert on TV featuring riveting performances from some of the world’s biggest stars. In addition, acclaimed actors will present personal stories of love and sacrifice submitted by viewers through the concert’s Virtual Wall of Remembrance

The program is usually co-hosted by Joe Mantegna (CRIMINAL MINDS) and Gary Sinise (CSI: NEW YORK), two acclaimed actors who have dedicated themselves to veteran’s causes and supporting our troops. (Laurence Fishburne will be filling if for Sinise co-hosting with Mantegna this year. Gary Sinise will be presenting a special WWII tribute during the program.) We’re pretty sure Donald Trump is not currently scheduled to appear.

Monday would also be a good day to watch “Taking Chance” (Always available on HBO On Demand), a 2009 historical drama film based upon the experiences of Marine Lt. Colonel Michael Strobl (Kevin Bacon), who escorts the body of a fallen Marine, PFC Chance Phelps (posthumously promoted to LCpl), back to his hometown from the Iraq War. If there was ever a movie guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes on Memorial Day, this one ought to do it. You can watch the trailer here.   (You might want to record this one on your DVR.

image004Finally, Bluegrass Bureau Chief Ken CamBoo says although many patriotic people will be celebrating Memorial Day this weekend, Confederate Memorial Day is officially celebrated in Kentucky on June 3, because Confederate President Jefferson Davis was born on that date in 1808 in Fairview, Kentucky.

For those of you who don’t know where Fairview is, it’s near Hopkinsville, wherever in the hell that is.
