And Was The Fishwrap’s Opinion Totally Ignored?

image005Down at the Feckless Fishwrap, our Metro Mole says everybody on the Idiotorial Board is still upset that Cincinnati City Mangler “Baltimore Harry” Black would’ve followed Diminutive DemocRAT Mayor John Cranley’s orders and chosen Elliot Isaac to be Cincinnati’s Newest Affirmative Action Police Chief without first getting The Fishwrappers’ blessing.

image007Let’s face it, after seeing how Cranley went all wobbly today after “somebody objected” to his remarks about keeping Murdering Muslim Terrorists Disguised As Syrian Refugees out of the Queen City, it’s easy to see that the choice of a new police chief was more about placating the Black community than it was about selecting the “best possible” police chief.  Elliot Isaac may be a very good person but, some would say he’s quite inexperienced as a senior command staff member.  He may have a great temperament but, the question is: is he a forceful leader or one who challenges people to perform at their optimal level?

image007Our FOP Snitch (probably not Kathy Harrell) says last week an officer was seen working a traffic post in uniform on Madison Road, wearing a baseball hat, backwards, on his head.  Another uniformed officer was observed at a traffic accident on a dangerous curve on Elberon Avenue, performing traffic duties early in the morning hours, while it was still dark. The officer was directing traffic around the accident, was not wearing a reflective vest, nor did he have road flares deployed to warn oncoming motorists, though he was in a blind spot. His flashlight was akin to a pen light and barely visible.  He had placed himself in a very perilous position.

image007image007These types of sightings are indicative of very poor supervision and a lack of emphasis at the command level for attention to detail and getting the job done right, in a safe, effective manner.

image007Being a nice guy doesn’t necessarily equate with effective leadership: Elliot will make friends, maintain a calming style of relationship with the Black community (because he is Black) but, The Blower wonders if he would drive the agency to be a nationally respected leader in law enforcement practices. He will more than likely keep the agency afloat but, it remains to be seen if he will drive the department to the next level of improvement.

image007The Blower has only the best wishes for the new Chief, The Blower also agrees with one of the reader’s comments to their online idiotorial (Right chief, wrong way):It would seem that newspaper personnel that can’t seem to run a functional newspaper business ought not branch out into opining about other businesses.”image009image010
