Conservative Leader Charles Tassell Has Officially Declared His Candidacy For The Open Seat In Ohio’s Second Congressional District
Clermont County, OH – Following the news that longtime Representative from the Second District, Congressman Brad Wenstrup, would be retiring, Charles Tassell has officially launched his campaign for Congress.
“We have been well served by Congressman, Dr., Colonel, Brad Wenstrup for almost 5 congressional terms, and our hearts and prayers are with him and his family as they refocus to enjoy their time together. Ohio’s Second District continues to need strong leadership and I will be seeking the Republican nomination to provide the Servant-Leadership the people of the 2nd district deserve,” stated Charles Tassell.
Charles continued, “I am running for Ohio’s Second Congressional district to carry on Congressman Wenstrup’s leadership in Washington. I’m running because I have seen the look in parent’s eyes when their children are lost to drugs. I’m running because I’ve stood face to face and have seen the desperation of young parents and single moms and dads as they try to make ends meet. When I get to Washington, I will fight the scourge of fentanyl by ending the Biden open border
policy and get our government spending under control to stop the inflation that has driven the cost of diapers, formula, and basic necessities through the roof and made paychecks worth less than they were before.”
“Woke Democrats in Washington are destroying our country. Budget deficits continue to grow and illegal immigration has gotten so bad that every state is now a border state. These two core issues cause many of the problems facing our country, from budget induced inflation as a hidden tax destroying our savings to fentanyl and illegal immigrants endangering our communities and undercutting our jobs. Getting a handle on these two domestic issues is critical!”
Throughout his more than two-decades of political and public service, Charles has been a strong voice for free market capitalism as the bedrock of growth and prosperity for America. During his time in local government service and on numerous local, state and national boards, Charles has distinguished himself as a leader who steadfastly defends and promotes Ohio values. He will take that experience to 
Washington and ensure that the people of Ohio’s Second Congressional District have a fighter working for them in Washington.
Charles Tassell has served the City of Deer Park, OH as a Council Member for 8 years, serving as Chairman of Public Works and Finance, developing balanced budgets with a focus on developing business and housing options. With over 20 years of policy development active from the local to international arena, Charles has a breadth of knowledge on housing, development, economics and regulation well recognized by his peers. Charles Tassell has been a faithful attendee at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for over 25 years, where he has served in numerous roles ranging from Sunday School instructor to Deacon and Elder. His wife of 31 years, Regina, and children CJ (25), Regan (21) and Eliza (15) attend with him. They live in Stonelick Township in Clermont County, where Charles serves on the County Housing Committee, and on the local Zoning Board, and as the Clermont County Republican Party Chairman.
Professionally, Charles is the Chief Operating Officer of the National Real Estate Investors Association where he has led for the past 11 years. As an active investor himself he is a partner in several real estate and business ventures, is an active member of the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Apartment Association, where he is a trustee to the Ohio Apartment Association and is the Chairman for 2023.
Charles has founded two non-profit organizations: Street Rescue and the Tassell Foundation for Civic Engagement. The latter program gives scholarships to civically engaged high school seniors, encouraging them to participate in ongoing mentoring and conservative training programs. Street Rescue is a well-known regional Cincinnati program that has won state and national accolades for its unique focus and success on reducing gun-violence. As a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment, Charles founded Street Rescue to get the guns out the hands of criminal elements on the street, while preserving the weapons themselves, so that they could go back into the service of good citizens.
