And Something Else You Probably Won’t See In The Fishwrap
The Muckraker says Hamilton County and City of Cincinnati politicians and BureaucRATS are unable to agree upon a solution for the possible shut down of the Metropolitan Sewer District’s (MSD) Little Miami plant that incinerates human waste. That incinerator is out of compliance with federal environmental rules. City, county, and MSD officials have long known that the human waste incinerator needed major improvements. Nothing was done.
Last year at an MSD meeting of its Citizens Advisory Panel (CAP), members, including Jack Degano, president of the Lower Price Hill Community Council, were assured by the MSD deputy director that if the deteriorating Little Miami incinerator was shut down, no human waste would be trucked into Lower Price Hill to be incinerated. That was a public commitment.
The EPA deadline nears. Some politicians now suggest that tons of human waste, up to seven DUMP trucks daily, could be transported from the East End through multiple city streets into Lower Price Hill to be incinerated. No one at the county or city thought to discuss that idea with residents and businesses in Lower Price Hill.
Those residents refuse to be subjected to environmental exploitation. They will not accept the daily trucking of tons of human waste into Lower Price Hill.
