The Washington Free Beacon says number of veterans waiting more than 30 days for care at Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities has climbed past half a million. The most recent data on pending appointments released by the VA last week shows that nearly 506,000 veterans currently seeking care at agency medical centers have waited more than a month for appointments, an increase of more than 10,000 in just two weeks and 23,000 in one month. Possible ISIS Attacks as Ramadan Begins
The U.S. State Department is warning Americans to be on alert during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The State Department-led Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) officials warned “martyrdom during the month may hold a special allure to some.” Several alerts have been issued by the Council urging people to “remain aware of the persistent threat of (ISIS) attacks, both inspired and directed.” Ramadan began Sunday, June 5 and will end on Tuesday July 5, one day after America celebrates Independence Day. The threatened attacks were announced in a “call to arms” video released by ISIS on May 21.

Stars and Stripes says John Avalos, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has revived a proposal following the crash of a Blue Angels jet last week: It’s time, he said, to ban the renowned Navy squadron from flying over his city. Rather, he said, they should be kept over San Francisco Bay, where sea vessels typically congregate for Blue Angels performances.
