NEARLY TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS AGO TODAY…

Edition #38 (published on February 19, 1991) of the original printed edition of The Whistleblower (not the Newswire) was delivered to Persons of Consequence all over town. That Week’s “Really Big Story” was all about how “Pentagon briefings had been aided by our Official Whistleblower Crisis in the Gulf Scorecard.” The Top Ten List was the Top Ten Questions a reporter could repeatedly ask at military press briefings, and Jerry Springer’s Original “Women I’d Like To Boink List.”image004

There was a Real Editorial by Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane (before he became “Beloved”), more “Real Facts,” and Spoiled Sports by Andy Furburger (before he became “FurBall).image007

And we took “Cheap Shots” at Judge Ann Marie Tracy, Nell Surber, Mayor David Mann, Orange Ribbon Lady Ellen Lambing, and Congressman Landslide Charlie Luken; along with “Another Real Guest Editorial by Bunky Tadwell.”image009

We Also Featured “Real Letters From Real Readers,” “Another Exclusive Whistleblower Report,” and an ad for an upcoming “Slumlords Rally.”image011Page Five Featured Bluegrass Holler by Ken CamBoo, a Column by then Northern Kentucky Bureau Chief J.R. Hatfield, another pointless election year gesture, and Traffic Tie-Ups By John Phillips Sousa, before he became a Groundhog Murderer.image013

And on Page Six, we featured the rest of Jerry Springer’s “Women I’d Like To Boink” List, and John Quichwarmer’s “Boobs on The Tube.”image015
