JAN 20 THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS

NEARLY TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS AGO TODAY…

image004Edition #44 (published on April 1, 1991) of the original printed edition of The Whistleblower (not the Newswire) was delivered to Persons of Consequence all over town. That was our First Annual Sincere Apology Issue. The Front Page featured a really sincere apology from the Publisher; The Top Ten List was of those things for which we felt we needed to apologize, and Other Apologies began with one to Channel 9 meteorologist wannabe Bob Alan, for reporting that he once made a lady friend install an air conditioner in her bedroom window because he didn’t like to sweat.image005

Page Two began with an apology to local political cartoonists Jim Borgman, Jeff Stahler, and Joe Hoffecker, for all the nasty things we though whenever used one of our ideas before we got the chance.image008 Page Three began with an apology to Former Hamilton County Auditor Joe Decourcy, for revealing the surprise defense he planned to use in his upcoming trial.image010

Page Four began with an apology to The Press pseudo-publisher Mike Hornback, who had sold his sould to Kenton County Commissioner Bernie Moorman.image012

Page Five began with an apology to Cincinnati City Manager Gerald Newfarmer, for suggesting that if he wanted to learn about problems in urban law enforcement, he should make good on the promise he made when he first came here to ride in a squad car or go undercover on Hamer Street, rather than sit behind his desk reading OMI reports.image014

And Page Six began with an apology to Mrs. Stan Solomon, for saying that even Chris Kotsovos refused to fashion her fur coat out of rat pelts trapped in one of her husband’s tenements.image015 It’s really hard to believe how good The Whistleblower was in those days.
