Security High On Anniversary Of Terrorist Attack
Runners from every U.S. state and 95 countries will take part in the 121st Boston Marathon this coming Monday, and authorities continue to maintain tight security from previous years. Both uniformed and plain-clothed officers will be lining the 26.2-mile route. Law enforcement officers will also use public works vehicles to block off pedestrian areas along the race course, as well as the newest technology in surveillance, including tethered drones to keep everyone safe.
Friday, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh encouraged spectators to avoid driving and use public transportation exclusively on Monday, as well as this weekend, since there are several marathon-related events scheduled. Despite the comprehensive safety plan, there’s no credible threat to the 2017 marathon, according to Walsh.
Despite the memory the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing when terror returned to America during the Obama Administration, today runners and spectators will still be celebrating American’s Annual sporting event that welcomes participants from all over the world. We must all remember the beautiful people who lost their lives and those who were gravely injured in the tragedy. We honor the brave men and women who tirelessly worked in the days after the bombings. This short video is dedicated to the great city of Boston and its people, and especially to the victims Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, and Lingzi Lu, as well as to MIT Police Officer Sean Collier who died in the line of duty.
And Saying a Prayer Might Not Hurt, Either!
