NETS TRUMPET DEMOCRATIC SIT-IN, TWIST HOUSE RULES TO TRASH REPUBLICANS

On Wednesday, House Democrats staged a sit-it on the House floor trying bring their failed Senate bills to a vote in the House. Many are calling their actions a publicity stunt, and they seem to be right. All three of the liberal networks were glued to Capitol Hill during their evening broadcasts. “The dramatic sit-in on Capitol Hill,” ABC’s David Muir touted on World News Tonight, “Sitting down, demanding action on gun control.” The sit-in also gave them the opportunity to trash House Republicans.

LUKE RUSSERT MARVELS OVER ‘HISTORY’ OF DEMOCRATS’ GUN CONTROL SIT-IN

On Wednesday’s MSNBC Live, Luke Russert fawned over Rep. John Lewis, as he and his Democratic colleagues staged a pro-gun control sit-in inside the well of the chamber of the House of Representatives. Russert first asked Lewis, “You are a civil rights icon. Your stories are remarkable — beaten within one inch of your life, it has been said. How important is this moment for you?” Russert later wondered, “Put this in history for me….Where does this stack up for you, in terms of what you’ve been able to accomplish in this life?”

MORNING JOE: SENATORS THWARTING GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION ‘NEED TO GROW UP’

As the fight for gun-control legislation continues on Capitol Hill, so too does the hypocrisy of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. On Wednesday, the show criticized Senator Susan Collins’ bipartisan legislation that would prevent people on two government watch lists from buying firearms. Host Joe Scarborough is so accustomed to attacking Republicans that he quickly chastised Senator Lindsey Graham for making his point on the need for greater constitutional restrictions regarding firearms.

NBC BENDS THE TRUTH TO DEFEND HILLARY FROM TRUMP’S SCATHING SPEECH

Donald Trump delivered a condemning speech against his opponent Hillary Clinton Wednesday, explaining why he calls her “Crooked Hillary.” The “big three” networks rushed to her defense, mostly picking on the easy targets among his allegations. But NBC’s Hallie Jackson went the farthest in bending the truth to counter Trump, and make Clinton look good. “Trump never one to mince words, though today not all of them were true,” Jackson reported during Nightly News.

CNN, MSNBC BARELY MENTION CORRUPTION CONVICTION OF DEMOCRATIC REP.

On Tuesday, CNN and MSNBC minimized their coverage of a Pennsylvania jury convicting Democratic Congressman Chaka Fattah on 23 federal charges related to a scheme to repay campaign debt from an aborted 2007 bid to become mayor of Philadelphia. Jake Tapper stood out as the only CNN anchor, as of noon on Wednesday, to mention that Fattah was “found guilty on all 23 charges he faced — including racketeering, money laundering, and fraud” during a brief on his program, The Lead. Steve Kornacki also gave a news brief on MSNBC Live.
