On Thursday afternoon, Hillary Clinton took to the stage in California and laid into Donald Trump, just like ABC News has been begging her to do. And the big three networks couldn’t get enough of it, during their evening broadcasts. “It was an extraordinary moment today,” praised CBS Evening News host Scott Pelley, “Hillary Clinton warned that Donald Trump could lead America into nuclear war on a whim.” Pelley reminisced about how President Lyndon B. Johnson made the same claim of Barry Goldwater.

Hardball host Chris Matthews received the first take on MSNBC after Hillary Clinton’s Thursday afternoon foreign policy speech and the faithful subject oozed that “it was a masterpiece” that was “very well constructed” and “exquisitely written.” Minutes later, Matthews received an assist from former McCain/Palin adviser and political analyst Nicolle Wallace as she stated that Clinton “just nailed the performance aspect of this speech.”

This piece by New York Magazine’s Claire Landsbaum made its rounds on Twitter Thursday morning, earning it ridicule from both the right and left. The reason? It’s all in the headline: “Stop Bugging Hillary Clinton About Giving a Press Conference.” In it, Landsbaum argues that the media should give Clinton a break and recognize “her forte” isn’t in talking to the press. So why can’t they just cut her some slack and stop trying so hard to ask her questions? Sadly, this isn’t satire.

‘UNDER THE GUN’ DIRECTOR REFUSES TO APOLOGIZE TO ‘RADICAL’ GROUP
While Katie Couric finally expressed some regret for a deceptive edit in her anti-gun documentary, the director of “Under the Gun” remains defiant. On Wednesday, Stephanie Soechtig told Variety magazine that “had I known that the NRA would focus on eight seconds of a two-hour film, I might have done things differently. But I made the creative decision and I stand by it.”
CBS SPOTLIGHTS LEFTIST GROUP THREATENING SPONSORS OF GOP CONVENTION
In an already polarized political climate leading up to the convention season for the Democrats and Republicans, CBS This Morning threw the spotlight on a left wing activist group known as Color of Change. The “civil rights” organization is pressuring corporate sponsors of the RNC to pull out of sponsoring the Republican Convention. Color of Change, tied to such movements like Black Lives Matter, is currently circulating an online petition to coerce corporations and other organizations from participating in the RNC convention
