Obama’s Middle East Clusterfuck Is Nothing New
Even a year ago, Judge Jeanine was saying Obama’s Feckless Foreign Policy was creating a dangerous vacuum.
Monday, during his Memorial Day Photo Op at Arlington national cemetery, Obama claimed is was the first time in 14 years that the US had celebrated the holiday while not engaged in a major ground war. Nearly 10,000 troops are set to remain in Afghanistan into 2016, fulfilling what the administration describes as “non-combat roles,” – such as coordinating drone strikes and training Afghan security forces not to fight like Obama’s troop trainers in Iraq.
In Los Angeles, whatever happened to all those Veterans’ Bodies that were never buried? Did that 89-Year-Old D-Day Veteran ever have his Veterans Benefits restored after they were cut from $300 to $6/Month?
A FRUMPY HILLARY IMPERSONATOR will be making a campaign appearance in Cincinnati next week. How much fun will that be?
HURLEY THE HISTORIAN says on this date in 1941, FDR proclaimed an unlimited national emergency. Obama says that was all Bush’s fault too.
OUR QUOTE FOR TODAY COMMITTEE chose President Ronald Reagan’s “Facts are stubborn things.”
IN YESTERDAY’S “MORE MEMORIALIZING E-DITION,” Cynical Sid asked us if we knew John Wayne was a draft dodger, and James Thurber said, “You could look it up.” One of our Long-time Persons of Consequence did just that and found something our Red Blooded Republicans might not want to read. OUR NUMBER TWO MEMORIAL DAY STORY THIS WEEKEND was when Gasoline Prices crept up another few cents to the highest levels of the year, but our Feckless Fishwrappers were celebrating it was the cheapest Memorial Day for drivers in five years. However, The Blower remembers when Gasoline was only $1.89 a gallon— you know, back where we had two oil men in the White House?
LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME local Kneepad Liberals in the Press couldn’t stop hyping the story about the disappearance of Brogan Dulle, whose body was found in the vacant part of the building next door to where the UC student lived. The Blower was looking for even more hype that week about failed search procedures. Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell claimed his Investigators did “everything” they could to find Dulle, except look next door. Such atrocious police work should’ve embarrassed the entire law enforcement community. Incidents like this should begin with a search at the residence and move away from the home using an increasingly larger radius as the effort grows. Empty or partially empty buildings should ALWAYS be a point of interest and THOROUGHLY SEARCHED by the police department. The Dulle Disappearance Debacle pointed to extremely poor field supervision! It’s a shame CNN didn’t ask him about it when he was grandstanding on TV about the riots.
ALSO LAST YEAR, The Blower remembers one of the really patriotic Memorial Day events in America followed the Annual Memorial Day Bell Ringing Ceremony Monday at the Anderson Center when Darryl Parks’ Reaganesque gave his inspirational tribute to PFC James Miller IV, for whom the Memorial Highway was designated on Beechmont Avenue between Markey Road and Nagel Road. And this year, Anderson Administrator Vicki Earhart asked us to thank all those tremendous volunteers who worked so hard to put the 2015 program together. And for all those nature lovers out there, none of the geese was killed when the old geezers from the American Legion fired their rifles over Lake Jackson, but they sure in hell did scatter.
IN NORTHERN KENTUCKY, Political Insiders were still talking about the Queen’s refusal to visit Cincinnati on her visit to Kentucky that was our Really Big Story in The Blower’s 23rd Anniversary series edition that came out May 21, 1991 [SEE EDITION # 51 HERE], and they asked Charles Foster Kane if he really accepted a Royal invitation to travel to Lexington during the Queen’s visit to receive an honorary knighthood. “You can’t believe what an extraordinary honor that was,” Our Beloved Whistleblower Publisher explained. “It was even a bigger deal than being made an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.”
AND AT YESTERDAY’S BRIBE LUNCH AT BELTERRA, where an unscrupulous politician was trying to get some unsubstantiated rumors about his opponent published in The Blower, Charles Foster Kane was asked what he thought about the way various politicians had sent out Memorial Day e-mails wishing their constituents a “Happy” Memorial Day. (Of course, most of these politicians never served a day in uniform in defense of this country and so they would do anything to try to wrap themselves in the flag and associate themselves with veterans.) “Since when is Memorial Day something to be ‘Happy’ about?” Kane asked.
Remember: We never print all the bad stuff we know and certain people ought to be damn glad we don’t, especially Sunshine Patriots.
