Are you ready for some mud-slinging?

image004BLUEGRASS BUREAU CHIEF KEN CAMBOO says, now that the 2015 Ohio Primary Elections are finally over, he’s glad to see The Blower has changed its Countdown Calendar at the lower right hand corner of this web page to click off the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the polls close in Northern Kentucky at 6 PM on Tuesday May 19 in only thirteen more days.

But before then, we’ll be bombarded by all those customary money-wasting, time-eating, idiotic ads from Republican Gubernatorial Candidates like Matt Beven, James Comer, Hal Heiner, and Will Scott telling us all how great they each are.

image007Meanwhile, in a bit of last-minute mudslinging, our Feckless Fishwrappers reported from a Tuesday press conference, where GOP Gubernatorial Candidate James Comer is now vehemently denying he physically abused a girlfriend in college and drive her to have an abortion nearly 20 years ago.

Comer, who had trailed slightly behind frontrunner Hal Heiner from Louisville in the most recent public polls, said other more recent surveys showed him in the lead “for the first time in 10 weeks.” As he committed to keeping his campaign going, Comer questioned the timing of the story, sparked by a letter from Comer’s former girlfriend Marilyn Thomas to the Courier-Journal.

Lexington blogger Michael Adams – who has previously published the allegations and has previously been tied to the Heiner campaign – as well as the Louisville newspaper for printing the story. (The Courier-Journal and The Fishwrap are both owned by Gannett.)

The story broke as Comer’s running mate Taylor Mill Republican State Senator Chris McDaniel said Monday night in a debate televised statewide that the blogger Adams was being investigated by a Kenton County grand jury for allegedly threatening McDaniel’s daughters over the internet.

And you thought this year’s 2015 Republican Bluegrass Primary Elections were going to be dull.

Note: Northern Kentucky Candidates Listed as Faux Facebook Friends on The Whistleblower’s Facebook Page hope they can get their faces in The Blower too, between now and the Bluegrass Primaries.
