Celebrating Trump’s Winning 2016 Campaign (55 More Days)

Reviewing Local Political Junkie We Called “Cincy Dave’s” Coverage: At This Point In 2016, There Were Only 55 More Days Until The Day That Will Live In Infamy For Crooked Hillary’s Supporters, Many Of Whom Have Still Not Recovered.

Today’s Good News And Bad News

From Our Local Political Junkie We’ll Call “Cincy Dave”

image004Democrats on the House Judiciary committee are asking the Justice Department to investigate the Trump Foundation’s “donation” to Pam Bondi, Florida A.G. so that she would quash her office’s investigation of Trump University.   Additionally, the N.Y.A.G. is investigating the Trump Foundation.  Trump has bragged about being able to buy off politicians but he wasn’t a presidential candidate then.   This is one that isn’t going away anytime soon, and won’t likely be resolved until after Election Day, but it does take some of the heat off the Clinton Foundation.

Middle class gets a raise and poverty rate is down. Even better, the poorest people received the biggest raises. This is the biggest percentage annual increase in middle class incomes since records started being kept in the ‘60s.  Good News for the economy is good news for the incumbent’s party.   It’s going to be image005difficult for Trump to argue in the debates that the economy is going so bad and you can bet that Hillary has these statistics already memorized.   Meanwhile, Trump is flip-flopping all over the place on economic issues.  Minimum wage increase/ no minimum wage increase. It’s hard to keep up with his current stance on this one.

As Julian Assange promised, more hacked files from the DNC were leaked this week.  Luckily for Hillary, there was nothing in them about her.   Actually, most of the information was in the form of contact numbers – phone numbers from about 6 years ago which are probably mostly obsolete by now.  DNC Chairperson Donna Brazile blamed it on the Russians, who image006seem to be behind every cyber attack these days.  Hillary’s campaign is hoping that this leak is the best dirt they have and they aren’t holding back the worst for last.

Also this week, Colin Powell’s hacked emails were released.   They were leaked to BuzzFeed, a left-wing site.   They show that Powell is not exactly a fan of The Donald, calling him a “national disgrace” and an “international pariah” and blasting him for embarking on a racist movement.  Powell was contacted and did not deny any of itWe wonder if the former Secretary of State could speak freely and tell people how he really feels about Mr. Trump.

Just after agreeing to who the moderators will be and giving them a thumbs up, Trump is now saying there shouldn’t be any moderators at all.   Is this the beginning of another excuse to back out, or is he just “working the refs” to get them to go easy on him?  Matt Lauer got a lot of heat last week for letting him off easy, saying to Trump that he wasn’t expected to know a lot about policy before asking some softball questions.  It is generally believed that Trump influenced the selection of the moderators to begin with, especially when they chose someone from Fox News to moderate the third debate.  As we said then, he wouldn’t be happy unless they named his cheerleaders – Hannity, O’Reilly, and Limbaugh/Coulter as moderators.

Many Republicans are privately panicking about the possibility of a Trump victory.   “It’s terrifying,” said one GOP consultant, who like others spoke on condition of anonymity. “He’s not qualified … and it’s a massive problem. I’m not a fan of Hillary Clinton, but at least I feel like some of those jobs that are required for president, she could do them.”

“I’ve heard a lot of conservatives voicing frustration, like, ‘How fucking hard is this, Hillary?’” said Ben Howe, a conservative ad-maker and an outspoken Trump detractor. “That’s the only reason I’m panicked these days … I’m losing faith in Hillary’s ability to win this easy-ass election.”

These polls show nothing unusual.  It is a waste of time polling California, Kansas, and Texas.  Everyone knows how they are going to go and candidates usually don’t waste any of their own time or resources, on them.image008image003
