And No Jail Time Too

Recently, our Feckless Fishwrappers reported some “really current news” when they said “Former Congresswoman Jean Schmidt is listed among the history and political science faculty at Chatfield College, a small, two-year Catholic school that has campuses in Over-the-Rhine and Brown County. Neither Schmidt nor a college spokeswoman returned messages seeking more details.”

On November 25, 2014 in our “Real E-mails From Real Subscribers” Edition, The Blower had long ago published: “This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful I’ve found a job teaching politics at Chatfield College, wherever the hell that is. —“Mean Jean” Schmidt, Shown Cavorting With Her Favorite Dancing Partner, Beloved Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane

Curiously, today when we checked the Chatfield College faculty web page, Mean Jean’s name or picture didn’t seem to be included, although her name was last on the list of members of the “History and Political Science Faculty.”

Maybe our Fishwrappers should have updated Jeremy Fugleberg’s year old story about Southwest Ohio’s Most Embarrassing Elected Official in History (Including Jerry Springer) who faced a $2,500 fine for not reporting legal assistance provided by a pro-Turkish group [READ MORE HERE], but The Blower still wonders why that so-called House Ethics Committee didn’t make “Mean Jean” re-pay the rest of that $500,000+ in legal fees to her Turkish attorneys.

Also not mentioned in our Forgetful Fishwrappery is whatever happened to “Mean Jean’s” Chief-of-Staff/Campaign manager who helped get her in all that trouble. The Blower pointed out “Bad News Barry” was also the former campaign manager for one of last year’s unsuccessful Republican Presidential Candidates and after he quit that job, he was actually reported to be an “advisor” to the Trump campaign, probably something akin to Eric “Call Me Crazy” Deters’ Non-Attorney NoKY Spokesperson position.

The Art Of The Deal, Clermont County Style

In a somewhat related story, Clermont Cronies have only recently become aware of that “secret tax increase” inserted into the State Budget by Representative Doug Green at the request of Clermont County Commissioner and Republican Party Chairman Dave Uible.  Apparently Green isn’t the fiscal conservative he touts himself to be when he runs for election each year.  Green’s proposal allows for an increase in Clermont County’s Hotel Tax from 3% to 4%.  This type of tax hike scheme is what caused voters to drive “Mean Jean” Schmidt out of the State Senate and replace her with Tom Niehaus after she supported tax hike after tax hike for Governor Bob Taft.  Of course, wouldn’t it be ironic if the paid political lobbyist who met with Representative Green on behalf of Uible to get this tax increase put into the State Budget was none other than Tom Niehaus himself!  The irony is remarkable. And when the tax increase went to the State Senate, Clermont County’s State Senator Joe Uecker let it slide right through.  Wondering why? Senator Uecker cut a deal of his own with Uible.  It seems that the rumor is Uecker plans to run for County Commissioner after he is barred from seeking another term as State Senator and will need the help of Uible to get the Republican Party’s endorsement so he can keep collecting a paycheck from the over taxed payers of Clermont County. Haven’t voters in Clermont County had enough of these backroom deals that allow their taxes to go up and politicians to all deny responsibility for it?
