A Better Way To Grow The Economy

** FILE ** In this Sept. 27, 1994 file photo, then-House Minority Whip Rep. Newt Gingrich, D-Ga., addresses Republican congressional candidates on Capitol Hill during a rally where they pledged a new "Contract with America." As Republican head into the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. Sept. 1, Gingrich said the GOP must position itself" as a broadly center-right party that achieves the goals of the American people" in a time of soaring costs for energy, health care and other needs." This afternoon at the Conservative Agenda, Political Insiders were asking Beloved Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane about the good old days when his old friend Newt Gingrich came up with his “Contract With America.”

“I remember it well,” Kane explained. The Contract with America was a document released by the United States Republican Party during the 1994 Congressional election campaign. Written by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, and in part using text from former President Ronald Reagan’s 1985 State of the Union Address, the Contract detailed the actions the Republicans promised to take if they became the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. Many of the Contract’s policy ideas originated at The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.”

For 2016, House Speaker Paul Ryan just introduced his “Better Way to Grow Our Economy.” It’s supposed to be a detailed plan with more than 101 ideas to spur economic growth, blah, blah, blah, because it’s time for bold, forward-looking ideas that promote economic growth and job development, yada, yada, yada.image006

They even have a video, to tell you all about it.

And last week in Washington, Ohio First District Republican Congressman Steve Chabothead even took part in a press conference to announce “A Better Way To Grow The Economy.”

Now somebody needs to tell us when everybody’s supposed to start getting excited about “A Better Way To Grow The Economy,” because so far, it just ain’t happening, and besides as far as slogans go, it isn’t very catchy, there’s no alliteration, and the damn thing doesn’t rhyme.image017 image018
