Desecrating Memorials

  • DURING THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, every politician in American kept busy sending out Memorial Day e-mails. Amazingly, some of them even appeared to be patriotic, and didn’t even ask for contributions. Liberals were busy last weekend mocking Memorial Day. The worst example we can remember is  that really sick TV ad brought to you last year by National Geographic.

Cynical Sid even asked us if we knew John Wayne was a draft dodger. As James Thurber said, “You could look it up.”

Maybe that’s why our Quote for Today Committee chose Clint Eastwood’s “We Americans are so tired of being thought of as dumb asses by the rest of the world that we went to the polls this November and removed all doubt.”

More Memorial Day Madness

  • Judge Jeanine says Obama’s Feckless Foreign Policy is creating a dangerous vacuum.
  • Last weekend Obama spent all those millions of over-taxed payers’ dollars to jet off on Air Force One and fly half way around the world, just so he could slip into Afghanistan under the cover of darkness on Sunday for a secret pho-op with U.S. troops serving during the closing months of America’s longest war and divert attention from all those dead veterans being discovered in Obama’s Current Dead Veterans Administration Scandal. On top of that, the White House blundered at Bagram by identifying the top CIA agent in Afghanistan that could target the entire unit for assassination by the Taliban. No wonder Afghan President Hamid Karzai refused to meet our Clueless Commander-in-Chief. Heck of a job, Obama!
  • Obama also announced that the US combat mission in Afghanistan will be over by the end of 2014, but he wants to keep 9,800 US troops there through 2015, apparently for the Taliban’s target practice.
  • In Los Angeles, we find that dozens of Veterans’ Bodies were never buried.
  • An 89-Year-Old D-Day Veteran had his Veterans Benefits cut from $300 to $6/Month.
  • Ground beef was being recalled just in time for Memorial Day cook-outs.
  • image006Some of those Dumbed-Down, Self-Absorbed, Media-Influenced, Celebrity-Obsessed, Politically-Correct, Uninformed, Short-Attention-Span, Free-Stuff Grabbing, Low-Information Obama Supporters Who Put Obama In The White House—Twice, actually believe Godzilla (a made-up movie monster) was created by Global Warming (a made-up Climate Condition).
  • Ohio TEA Party Guy Tom Zawistowski said Disingenuous DemocRATS like Sherrod Brown should be booed at Memorial Day events for not supporting legislation to hold accountable senior managers who are responsible for the deaths and suffering of veterans by delaying critical medical services for years at a time and then lying about it.
  • Hurley the Historian says on this date in 1900 fire nearly destroyed the Reds’ grandstand. And watching our current crop of hitless millionaires lose all those games this year, Whistleblower Senior Spoiled Sports Editor Andy FurBall wonders why they ever rebuilt it.
  • From time to time, The Blower has casually mentioned how local Republicans have been somewhat disappointed at Alex T. Mall Cop GOP’s lack of leadership at the Hamilton County RINO Party. On Memorial Day, The Blower learned local Disenchanted DemocRATS have been just as disillusioned with Hamilton County Demo-Labor Party Boss Tim Burka. Maybe each group could arrange a swap.
  • Last week, our Feckless Fishwrappers were celebrating the fact that gasoline prices hereabouts were averaging 5 to 8 cents lower than a year ago after adjusting for inflation at the same time The Blower was remembering when Gasoline was $1.89 a gallon— you know, back where we had two oil men in the White House?
  • image009Also last week, our Local Kneepad Liberals in the Press couldn’t stop hyping the story about the disappearance of Brogan Dulle, whose body was found in the vacant part of the building next door to where the UC student lived. Now we’re looking for even more hype this week about failed search procedures. Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell claims his Investigators did everything they could to find Dulle, except look next door.Such atrocious police work should embarrass the entire law enforcement community. Incidents like this should begin with a search at the residence and move away from the home using an increasingly larger radius as the effort grows. Empty or partially empty buildings should ALWAYS be a point of interest and THOROUGHLY SEARCHED by the police department. The Dulle Disappearance Debacle points to extremely poor field supervision! Heck of a job, Jeffrey!
  • In Anderson, one of the really patriotic Memorial Day events in America following the Annual Memorial Day Bell Ringing Ceremony Monday at the Anderson Center was Darryl Parks’ Reaganesque tribute to PFC James Miller IV, for whom the Memorial Highway was designated on Beechmont Avenue between Markey Road and Nagel Road. Anderson Administrator Vicki Earhart asked us to thank all those tremendous volunteers who worked so hard to put the program together. Meanwhile, Astonished Andersonians still can’t trying to figure out why Jeff Ruby will be the recipient of this year’s “WTF Were We Thinking Award” from the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce on June 3. Maybe it’s to thank Ruby for not living in Anderson, and hope he never changes.
  • image011IN NORTHERN KENTUCKY, Political Insiders were still talking about the Queen’s refusal to visit Cincinnati on her visit to Kentucky that was our Really Big Story in The Blower’s23rd Anniversary series edition that came out May 21, 1991 [SEE EDITION # 51 HERE], and they asked Charles Foster Kane if he really accepted a Royal invitation to travel to Lexington during the Queen’s visit to receive an honorary knighthood. “You can’t believe what an extraordinary honor that was,” Our Beloved Whistleblower Publisher explained. “It was even a bigger deal than being made an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.”
  • AND AT YESTERDAY’S BRIBE LUNCH AT BELTERRA, where an unscrupulous politician was trying to get some unsubstantiated rumors about his opponent published in The Blower, Charles Foster Kane was asked what he thought about the way various politicians had sent out Memorial Day e-mails wishing their constituents a “Happy” Memorial Day. (Of course, most of these politicians never served a day in uniform in defense of this country and so they would do anything to try to wrap themselves in the flag and associate themselves with veterans.) “Since when is Memorial Day something to be ‘Happy’ about?” Kane asked.

image014Remember: We never print all the bad stuff we know and certain people ought to be damn glad we don’t, especially Cincinnati Missing Persons Investigators.
