Falling Leaders and Rising Stars

  • Whistleblower Senior National Political Affairs Analyst Britt Humus says Tuesday’s “We Built This” night at the Republican National Convention must have gone pretty well, or else why would all those Obama Supporters in the Press be so bent out of shape trying to condemn it?

The Blamestream Media demanded Romney cancel the convention during the hurricane. Of course, Obama’s campaigning during the same hurricane would be OK.

  • And Liberals always claim the GOP is the party of old racist white people. That’s why PMSNBC cut all the speeches made by minorities and NBC News posted clips of white speakers only. Meanwhile, NBC’s Chuck Todd declared Republicans were putting all those minorities out front, just to appear diverse.

NewsBuster’s roundup included:

An ABC News producer got his sorry ass fired for saying, “The Romneys are happy to have a party when black people drown.” NBCNews.com omitted Black DemocRAT-turned-Republican Artur Davis from its List of ‘Notable’ Speeches. The Washington Post headline asked: “Did God Plan Isaac to Punish Republicans?” Ex-Newsweek’s Howard Fineman slammed Chris Christie’s speech as “Nasty and Mean.” A CNN Analyst ridiculed the “Sledgehammer” GOP Platform on Abortion. Current TV’s Joy Behar claimed “People like Romney and Ryan are “Trying to Kill Us.”

  • Watching convention speeches is important, because you never know when you’ll be seeing a political star of the future. Ronald Reagan wowed the crowd in 1976 with a six-minute speech delivered in defeat. Bill Clinton nearly put Drowsy DemocRATS to sleep in 1988 with his 33-minute nomination of Michael Dukakis. And a little-known state senator named Barack Obama became the star of the 2004 DemocRAT convention with a speech that electrified the crowd. All three men went on to win the presidency four years later.
  • The Blower can hardly imagine any of our current local elected officials rising to such an occasion. Three Ohioans (Senator Portman, Governor Kasich, and Speaker Boehner) are “scheduled to speak” at the Republican National Convention this week, but that’s as high as any of them will ever be going.

Which is why The Incredibly Shrinking Fishwrap’s front-page illustration and story on Wednesday was so amazing: They wanted to know if Kasich or Portman would be the GOP Nominee in 2016. (Our Feckless Fishwrappers must be hoping Romney loses). What convention were they watching anyway?

  • And did you see where Obama couldn’t stop whining that Republicans wouldn’t be saying nice things about him at the RNC Convention? That’s one prediction he finally got right. Next week, when he’ll be nominated for a second term, Obama should skip the DemocRAT Convention in Charlotte, hold 107 fund-raisers, and try to squeeze in five rounds of golf during that three-day period.
  • Still, there’s no way of knowing how Obama’s Smear Squad will be going after Ann Romney after her dazzling performance Tuesday night. Clearly, she was the “Wife of the Party,” putting the “lady” back in First Lady with her Mrs. America speech. We didn’t need Pollster Dick Morris to tell us “Ann Romney Nailed It.” Fox News panelists may have called it “a triumph” and “the single most effective political speech I’ve ever heard given by a political wife,” but House Liberal Juan Williams dismissed it, calling Mrs. Romney a “Corporate Wife.”

Hurley the Historian says on this date in 30 BC, Cleopatra committed suicide. Can you imagine what all of those predisposed cable news stations would’ve done with that story?

  • In Tampa, Buckeye Bureau Chief Gerry Manders says Whistleblower Faux Friend Ohio Auditor Dave Yost hosted the Ohio delegation breakfast on Wednesday, introducing special guests like the always sensuous Fox News personality Andrea Tantaros, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus (pronounced Reince Priebus), Condoleezza Rice, and Tagg Romney.
  • Revered Former Congressman Bob McEwen took his friend Dr. Jim Davies around to meet members of the Ohio delegation on the floor. Jim is Ann Romney’s brother and a delegate from California. Bob also spoke to that 60s Plus organization with Pat Boone Tuesday morning, but says neither he nor Pat Boone is Thursday Night’s Mystery Guest Speaker.

Word is Clint Eastwood is on his way to Tampa to attend the RNC Convention. Go ahead, make my convention!

  • Republicans for Higher Taxes applaud The Fishwrap for urging Hamilton County Commissioners to raise taxes to fix the county’s budget issues. The blog editorializes that we deserve multiple tax increases, forcing us to spend less so the government can spend more.
  • And how many Tea Partiers go to church? Darn near all of them, from the number of hands that were raised recently after a question from a CCV Action spokesman. His question: How many of your pastors or priests won’t talk about political policy because of their fear of the IRS? Needless to say those Culture Impact Team Resource Manuals clarifying pulpit pronouncements were in demand!
  • Finally, at yesterday’s meeting of the Conservative Agenda, did Political Insiders remember to remind Beloved Whistleblower Publisher Charles Foster Kane about his wife’s birthday today? That’s why our Quote for Today Committee chose “I never forget my wife’s birthday. It’s usually the day after she reminds me about it, or the day Beechmont Toyota e-mails me a ‘Wife’s Birthday Alert.’”

Today’s edition is brought to you by a generous “in-kind” donation during our August fund-raising drive from the Hamilton County Demo-Labor Party, who’ll need a lot of help getting publicity for Monday’s Labor Day Picnic at Coney Island, since both Obama and Biden have someplace more important to be.
